“Shapeshifters From Where and Whom Contour” begins with transformation and fabrication, exploring the interplay between intention, the body, and material. The artist imagines existing within a nebulous environment, where matter and information are fragmented into fine particles, clinging to concepts, technologies, and intentions as they circulate through various physical and informational atmospheres. The physical properties of vapor—its capacity for minute permeation and blending, its responsiveness to pressure and heat, its lack of fixed volume or form—offer a conceptual perspective distinct from that of liquidity. Starting from an indistinguishable mist, the artist engages materiality, merging the physical nature of materials with bodily experience to generate ongoing metamorphoses between the energetic potential of matter and the conceptual force of spirit.
